Icom ID-800H

The ID-800H radio is one of the original DStar radios produced and works great.  It also includes a 9600 baud port so it can be used with the DStarClient.

Building the cable

The ICOM ID-800H radio uses a common 8 pin mini DIN connector for its packet interface. These are available from many electronic supply companies. The 8 pin mini DIN connector is also the same as the old Mac serial cables. Some times you can find this old cables in the thrift shop for next to nothing. Here are a couple of examples.
